Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Zoning Appeals is a five member board that is appointed by the Shenandoah County Circuit Court. The Board is tasked with hearing and deciding appeals from decisions made by the Zoning Administrator and requests for the relaxing of the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance. All appeals presented to the Board are on a case by case basis and every request for a variance needs to meet standards set forth in the Zoning Ordinance and Code of Virginia. The Board has no set meeting schedule, rather meeting as needed.
