The Town of New Market currently has openings for
members of the community to join the following committee:
Historic Overlay District Review Board -
The Board is in charge of reviewing all plans that
will significantly change the exterior appearance
of buildings located within the Historic Overlay District.
The Board is to encourage all construction projects
to be compatible with the Town's historic character
and to promote the historic areas for the education,
pleasure and welfare of the citizens of the town as
well as tourists. While similar, the current
Board is not charged with architectural review regulations
that are enforceable as in other communities.
If appointed to the Board, the term will run until
November 30, 2015. The Historic Overlay District
Review Board meets on an as-needed basis. Interested
candidates should complete the volunteer application
form along with any supporting documentation such
as cover letters, resumes, etc. and submit them to
the Town Planner, Mr. Chad Neese, at the Town Office,
9418 John Sevier Road. Deadline for
submissions is open until filled.
Interested parties should

application form and return it to the Town Manager’s
Office.
